Interior Furnishings & Renovation – Interior Tenant Fit-Out – Restaurant, Lounge and Serveries for Office Employees

Tucked away in a top-secret location, this technology firm office project was all about creating a creative haven for approximately 500 engineers. Our main task? To refurbish and redesign a themed restaurant, providing the perfect mid-day escape for employees to unplug, relax, or engage in informal meetings.

To capture the essence of the local culture, we collaborated with a team or architects based in the DC area. Our journey began with a thorough exploration of concepts, and after presenting three distinct themes to our client, they enthusiastically voted for the ‘Industrial Mountain Lodge’ theme.

Over the course of six months, the architects and our design team meticulously developed the concept, progressing through the schematic design, design development, and construction document phase. At each stage, we presented our collaborative interior design ideas to our client, ensuring their vision was at the forefront of the evolving concept.

The standout features of this project include booths resembling cozy cabins for a ski-lodge vibe, a warm color palette inspired by a mountain sunset, and a central fireplace with an industrial touch, featuring a concrete look. The servery backdrop and ceiling showcased a distinctive mountain pattern, complemented by suspended wood beams and acoustical cloud elements. To tie in with the local culture, we integrated curated local art throughout the space.

In the end, this restaurant/cafe became more than just a workspace — it became a thoughtfully crafted environment where these tech employees could escape from the screen and immerse themselves in the cozy charm of the ‘Industrial Mountain Lodge’.
